Outfit of the day 17/01/17

Today was Hairdresser Day! I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t get there, as I have been so ill recently and haven’t been out of the house for a week. But I made it, thanks to Lovely Husband for taking me and collecting me afterwards. My hair now looks very posh indeed as it has been nicely trimmed and the roots have been done. I am all curly again with a gorgeous blow-dry. I wish I could do this at home, but I am happy to just wash and go because I still have natural curls and I am too lazy to mess around with a hairdryer!

My outfit today mixed up browns and dark blue, inspired by this wonderful “Dans un Jardin Anglais” twilly, designed by Alice Shirley for Hermès. A twilly is a small, slim scarf and I usually tie this in a pretty bow on my new handbag (I will try to get more photos of this as soon as I can). Today, I wore the twilly around my neck for the first time, using a tiny horn scarf ring by MaiTai – see the link in the sidebar. I also have this scarf in the 90cm size and in a different colourway, which I will post about at a later date.

  • Bronze cashmere cardigan – Pure Collection (mine is a v neck).
  • Dark navy cotton short sleeved top – Lands’ End.
  • Navy jeans – Klass.
  • Silk twilly – 85 x 5cm- Dans un Jardin Anglais in a criss-cross knot – Hermès.
  • Crystal earrings.
  • Brown metallic faux snake skin and metal bangle – Wallis (I have had this for a long time; the image below shows the shape).
  • Navy leather flat shoes – Hotter.
  • Navy metallic leather handbag – Massaccesi.

If you look at the image of the navy handbag, above, you can also see the small bronze leather pouch that I use for my scarves when out and about. I put the twilly and the scard ring in there today, whilst at the hairdresser’s.

Since Friday, I have finished two books and have rated them and written very short reviews on Goodreads. I particular enjoyed the Lisa Gardner and have already requested the other books in the series from the library.

At the moment I am reading “The Silent Wife” by ASA Harrison – very intriguing so far!
